The standard width of a residential driveway is around 10 to 12 feet. If you own a larger vehicle like a work truck, work van, RV, or camper, 12 feet should be the minimum. You want to have enough room to the sides of your vehicles so that you can avoid driving and parking on the edges of your driveway

Verify permit restrictions. Duval county has a 24’ max at the ROW.
The city's plan reviewer for driveways was able to cite the requirements for residential driveways for me today. It's sections 2.1.3 and 2.1.4 of the City of Jacksonville's Land Development Procedures Manual. It can be accessed here ->
Here are screen shots of the specific sections. It does mention the 24' at the ROW max. Nothing about a 30' max at the roadway. The only thing I have to go by for that is by the plan reviewer's own words in my email correspondence with her.
