Pool Light
Pool lights should be placed to avoid any major shadows. If a shadow is unavoidable, add another light
Verify if pool lights will be controlled by remote control or switches
Discuss switch location with client and mark on design guide
Old default pool light - 12V 300W LED Intellibrite Colored Pool Light
If customer opts out of colored light and they have a screen enclosure, we can sell Lutron remote to turn on and off
Never want light pointed at the house
You can place on face of sun shelf or bench if needed
Avoid placing on exposed beam because the typical fixture housing is on the outside of the beam
Do not place light on spa wall
You can place below a skimmer, but it has to deeper than the standard.
Standard depth for Globrite is 19”
Skimmer depth is approximately 24”. Need to verify manufacturer specs.
New standard light package for pools will include 2 - 3 Globrite LED Lights instead of 1 300W LED Intellibrite pool light
When possible evenly space lights on length of pool. See diagram below
Tanning Ledge Light
Default tanning ledge light either
Globrite LED Light - minimum 10" water depth to fit the light
LED Bubbler - minimum 8" water depth
Consider lounger placement when placing tanning ledge lights. You do not want to place lights directly behind loungers.
Spa Light
Default spa light - LED 100W Equivalent Spa Light
Default placement facing the spillway on the bench face
Spa lights can face the house because the spa wall will block the light from creating a glare from the house view
Light Switch
If automation is
NOT
included on the project, ask client where they want the light switch. Mark location on pool plans and design guide
