Pool Equipment Pad

Pad size

No gas heater or heat pump - 4'-0" x 4'-0".
If there is (1) gas heater or heat pump - 3'-6" x 8'
If there is (2) gas heater or heat pump - 3'-6" x 11'-0"

Pad Placement

Whenever possible, place pool equipment as close to pool and spa as you can. Try to stay within 30' of the pool.
Whenever possible, place pool equipment on the same side of the house as the garage and gas meter
Keep 6" between the house and the edge of the pad
Keep minimum 2'-0" between the pad and any obstruction on the other side of the pad to leave room for valves
Pool equipment needs access for service. Maintain 2’ clearance when possible
Exhaust vent for gas heaters must be at least 5 feet away from any windows. Otherwise you will have to pipe the exhaust away.
If the customer is worried about the pump being too loud, tell them it creates the same volume as an air conditioning unit
Make sure there are no obstructions in then area you want to put the equipment. The 2 biggest obstructions are tree roots and propane/natural gas piping
Be sure to check the feasibility study to make sure the equipment placement is allowed where you want to put it.
Some communities don’t want it on the side of the house or want it to be covered with a fence or landscaping
